Yourself First helps you pause easy lookups and everyday decisions before they are sent to ChatGPT, and can hide Google’s AI Overview on search result pages.
On ChatGPT pages, the extension reads the text you are about to send so it can classify that prompt on your device. Prompt text is not written to storage and is not sent to our servers.
On Google search pages, the extension inspects page structure only as needed to hide the AI Overview block. It does not save your search queries.
The extension stores aggregate statistics (counts such as prompts held, overridden, and estimated tokens kept), settings, pause state, and a local device id. Counts may sync through Chrome Sync when you are signed into Chrome.
Classification runs locally. The extension does not call a Yourself First backend. If you use “Search the web instead”, Chrome opens a normal Google search tab for your query.
